Yes, we offer dance classes for children and adults who want to learn more about dance or who want a pathway to performance.
To attend a performance at Lawrence Arts Center, find out what our current or upcoming shows are and purchase a ticket! You can buy tickets online up to one hour before the show start time. After that, you can call 785-843-2787 or visit the front desk at our 940 New Hampshire location to purchase tickets. Costs of performances vary from free to about $20.
Exhibitions at Lawrence Art Center are free to the public, so (unless otherwise noted in the exhibition description) all you have to do is mark your calendar and show up!

When conditions are unsafe for travel for students, staff, and faculty, the Lawrence Arts Center may cancel classes and rehearsals and/or close the building. LAC will offer make-up classes and rehearsals when possible.
- If USD 497 cancels school due to inclement weather, Lawrence Arts Center Preschool, Kindergarten, and all classes starting before 5 pm will be canceled.
- Building closure, delay or other building activities will be addressed separately.
- Cancellation of classes and rehearsals starting after 5 pm will be announced by 3 pm the day of.
- If there is no announcement, classes will be held as scheduled.
Our classes are open to all! We have certain classes that are specifically designed for younger children, but many of our other courses are designed for big kids of all ages.

Yes, we offer early childhood education in many forms! We have an arts preschool and kindergarten for school-year classes and a series of early learning experiences designed to open up your little ones to their inner artist.

Things come up, and we offer a few options if you can no longer attend your class at its scheduled time.
You can transfer to another class for a $10 transfer fee or drop a class for a $10 drop fee. Account credits will be issued if classes are dropped one week or more before the start of class, plus a $10 drop fee. We do not issue refunds except in rare, special circumstances.
