Salad Days Exhibition & Call for Art

SALAD DAYS, AN art exhibition curated by Hang 12, the Lawrence Arts Center’s teen curatorial collective.

This one-day exhibition and event takes place on Saturday, November 7th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the White School House in North Lawrence. This group exhibition will be exploring themes of nostalgia, and one’s own childhood years. The event will feature live music, food, interactive sculptures, exclusive merch, and art from all across Lawrence. Hang 12 hopes to reconnect members of the community with their youth, and reminisce on their own “Salad Days.”

Call for Entry

“Salad days” refers to a period of carefree youth characterized by innocence, idealism, and inexperience.

October 12th, 2026: Deadline for entries

Are you an emerging or experienced artist interested in having your work featured in a collaborative exhibition? Hang12 and the White Schoolhouse are curating a show exploring themes of nostalgia and one’s childhood years. We hope community members can use this exhibition to reconnect with their youth and reminisce on their own salad days.

Works must be no larger than 24” in any direction, including finished and/or framed works. Open to 2D and 3D works. Artwork chosen to be exhibited is not required to be for sale, Hang12 takes 20% of any work sold.
