Coming to you right after May Day at the Lawrence Arts Center is Harlan County USA, the Oscar award winning documentary from 1976. Celebrating 50 years of inspiring workers into action, Harlan County USA tells the story of a Kentucky town who got fed up with being pushed around by Duke Power Company. In 1973, when denied a contract, 180 miners (and their wives, mothers, and sisters) took to the protest lines for 13 months.
