Irish Dance for Teens & Adults II[26WSP]01/12/26 - 05/11/26, 8:30PM - 9:25PM | MOAges 12 to 120 | Annie Stark | Lawrence Arts CenterEnrolling Now | 26WDYR1Members $266 | Non-Members $266Irish dance is upbeat and involves choreographed traditional and non-traditional dances. Beginner-level students will learn fundamental movements like the basic jig and reel steps. Intermediate-level students will incorporate more complicated patterns and preparations for hard shoes. All are welcome to join the Irish Dance program and enjoy this percussive dance form. This is class students work on finishing and perfecting the four beginner soft shoe dances (reel, light jig, hop jig, slip jig), and three beginner hard shoe dances (hornpipe, treble jig, St. Patrick?s Day set dance). No class Jan. 19, Mar. 16. This is an advanced Irish Dance class. Instructor permission required. Those enrolling are expected to be familiar with general policies, attire, and opportunities outlined in the School of Dance Handbook. This class accepts Drop-In Dance Cards. First-year students wear ballet slippers until approved to purchase and wear pointe shoes. Classes focus on strengthening the body and using proper technique in preparation for the rigors of dancing en pointe. In addition to the two pointe classes, Ballet V-VI students are required to enroll in three ballet technique classes per week. No class Mar. 10, Mar. 17.
