OVERVIEW OF REHEARSALS: 

 Mon-Thurs 4-9:30PM (Dinner break 5:30-6:30PM), Fri 4-7pm (June 30- July 24)

NO Rehearsal July 4 

TECH WEEK:  July 20-24

PERFORMANCES: July 25 at 7pm, July 26 at 2pm and 7pm  

STRIKE: Sunday, July 27 2-4pm

CAST PARTY:  July 27, 4-6pm Lawrence City Pool

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP POLICY

• • Drop-off: 
    • SENIORS (8th-12th Graders): Students should go to 10TH & MASS STUDIOS, LOBBY AREA for all rehearsals. We will move to the mainstage after dinner break.
  • Pick-Up: 
    • SENIORS (8th-12th Graders):  Students should be picked up in the LAC MAIN BUILDING, MAIN LOBBY AREA.

COSTUME

BASE COSTUMES- please bring to rehearsal on our first day of tech, Monday, July 21 Don’t worry if you’re missing something—and please  DO NOT purchase anything! Just message our amazing costume designer, Knox.

Base costume for every actor: 

• Black tank top or short sleeve t shirt –
  • Must be completely plain with no logos/designs
  • Prefer it to be fitted rather than oversized, it will be tucked into pants/skirt
• Neutral colored shorts
  • Only need if you are wearing a dress or skirt
  • Can be black, white, cream, nude, brown, army green, navy colors
  • Can be bike shorts/dance shorts or other type of shorts, just something to make sure you’re covered under your dress/skirt
• Socks:
  • Any length
  • Can be black, white, cream, brown, army green, navy
  • Please no bright colors or designs
• Shoes:
  • Converse, keds, combat boots, any lace up boot, mary janes, character shoes, flats, dress shoes
  • Can be black, white, cream brown, army green, navy
  • Please no large logos or designs

Due to licensing rights, there will be no Livestream option for this production.

Please be aware that the show contains the following:

• Flashing lights and fog
• Adult Language
• Mature content, discomforting situations
• Tobacco, alcohol, and drug references.

ENROLLMENT

• All cast members are expected to be present and on time for all rehearsals they are called to.

• There is a $335 mandatory enrollment fee for all students.

• There is no additional costume fee but we may ask cast members to provide their own shoes, tights, and undergarments.

SYT Jack Powell Memorial Scholarship

In honor of Jack Powell, we are also offering the Jack Powell Memorial Scholarship, awarded to SYT students who demonstrate a commitment to theatre and are in financial need.  Special consideration is made to those students who wish to participate in more than one production during the current Summer Youth Theatre season.  Contact Justin Harbaugh, justin@lawrenceartscenter.org for questions or to apply.

The Lawrence Arts Center welcomes and encourages parent/guardian volunteers as an important component of our process. We believe that parents enhance the experiences for young actors. Your involvement helps us to maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for all of our performers, technicians, patrons, and staff.

We will need help with costume construction, backstage during tech rehearsals and performances, as well as front of house help during performances in the form of ushers and concession support.
