Icons are quiet, sacred objects of luminescent beauty existing between the physical and spiritual worlds. The icons Connie Ehrlich has created for this exhibition are rooted in the 15th Century Russian School of Iconography and based on Byzantine prototypes.  They are painted using traditional egg tempera with natural pigments and genuine gold leaf on wood panels. The magical nuances of light, a sparkle of gold, and layers of color aluminate with life.
