For 50 fabulous years, the Summer Youth Theatre program has provided intensive training in all aspects of dramatic theatre through our mainstage SYT productions. Using Broadway musicals, classic dramas, and original works, students learn by doing. They receive training from professional directors, costume designers, stage designers, stage managers, choreographers, actors, and dancers.
Here is our mission: Summer Youth Theatre cultivates positive working relationships between young people, professionals, and the community to create high-quality, thought-provoking productions.
When kids participate in youth theatre, it opens them to an entirely new world and new friends to explore their art with. Youth theatre should be a lot of fun, all while offering the opportunity to build relationships with the surrounding theatre community. Everything we do at Lawrence Arts Center supports our larger goal of connecting, exploring, and growing together with you.
