Wanwan Cai

School of Dance


Wanwan began dancing ballet and Chinese classical dance when she was five. She trained with the local art school for many years and continued with the arts group in college. During college and graduate school, she also performed with a Shaoxing opera company in Tianjin. Wanwan also teaches yoga at OmTree Shala and serves as the director and teacher of the Lawrence Jasmine dance group.

This ancient art form, rich in history and tradition, emphasizes grace, storytelling, and expressive gestures, drawing from centuries of cultural heritage. You'll experience a blend of influences, including folk dance, martial arts, ballet, and Chinese opera, allowing you to appreciate the depth and variety of this unique style. Key elements include footwork, dynamic poses, and using breath to enhance movement. Prior dance experience is recommended but not required.

No class March 13 & 20. This class will participate in the EOYS on May 16-17.
