Work with installation, sculpture, and ceramic artist Twiggy Cercy to alter, upcycle, or remix found clothing or accessories into something uniquely fashionable. We'll learn simple techniques for assemblage and stitching used by Twiggy in their sculpture installations.

Learn to cut, alter, sew, and stitch reclaimed clothing into one-of-a-kind fashion statements. We’ll venture to Arizona Trading Company to spark our ideas and select thrifted garments to transform in the studio while learning to use sewing machines, hand, stitching, and other fashion alteration techniques. Students are encouraged to bring found clothing and will have a ‘fashion budget’ to purchase clothes to alter.

This class is designed for beginning clay students who want to learn basic wheel throwing skills. This class will cover wedging, centering, wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing while making functional objects like cylinders, mugs, bowls, and plates.
