Leah Towle

STEAM Program, School of Theatre and Music


Leah (she/her/hers) is a teaching artist focused on activating students artistry, encouraging exploration and choice making, and integrating science and theatre. Leah trained through the Lincoln Center Education Teaching Artist Learning Lab, is part of the Kennedy Center Teaching Artist Development Series, and has stage combat actor certifications through Dueling Arts International and the Society of American Fight Directors. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Bethel College in North Newton, KS where she spent much of her time working as an actor, director, and costume designer. At the Lawrence Arts Center, Leah teaches youth and adult theatre and improv classes, teaches STEAM classes and ARTSpace camps, and works on theatrical productions throughout the year.

Artists will investigate painting, printmaking, and sculpture. They will also figure out how to combine all three. This process based art class gives young artists a chance to work with a multitude of materials and play through art making. Must be 3 by first day of class and fully, independently toilet trained.

Members will create an ensemble, build confidence in improvising, and perform for the public at Final Fridays! Class performances will be on 1/30, 2/27, 3/27, & 4/24. Must have taken an Arts Center improv class in the last five years or have instructor approval. No Class Jan 19 & March 16.
