Laura Rollins

Visual Arts Instructor


Laura is an artist born and raised in St. Louis Missouri. While in STL Laura participated in Artica, a multidisciplinary arts collective and annual arts festival. Laura moved to Lawrence in 2013 and earned her Bachelor’s degree from KU in Jewelry and Metalsmithing in 2016. Her artwork focuses on the beauty of physical reality in growth and decay. Recurring themes in her artwork include human anatomy, botanicals and spiritualism. Laura is thrilled to be a part of the Lawrence Arts Center and serving the Lawrence community. IG: @rock_lady_l

This class is for students who have taken at least one LAC metals class or who have prior experience with metalsmithing. Students in this class will create a locket of their own using a guided process from the instructor.

This class will give students an introduction to traditional metalsmithing techniques like sawing, rivets, and soldering. Students will finish the class with an art object or jewelry of their own making.
