Knox McClendon is a costume designer and technician from Topeka, KS. They are a recent University of Kansas graduate with a Theatre Design degree, and this spring had the pleasure of designing costumes for the KU Opera’s production of Sweeney Todd. They have also designed costumes for KU’s Embodying Love: Fall Dance Concert and Insider Outsider: Spring Dance Concert. In addition to designing, Knox has worked with the KU Costume Shop and the Music Theatre Wichita Costume Shop as a technician. They are very excited to be the SYT Costume Basics teacher for June, and to design costumes for The Wizard of Oz Youth Edition.

Learn how to create makeup looks for all kinds of theatre! This class will cover basic stage makeup and special effects makeup such as old age, animals, and wounds. No prior knowlege needed, will need to come with basic makeup supplies. A list of supplies will be provided.

In this special crossover class with Youth Visual Arts, students must bring their own base costume, and we will design and create cosplay accessories and embellishments for 5 weeks followed by 3 weeks of Life Drawing. Learn poses and draw each other.
