Caitlin DeFilippo is a passionate art educator with 14 years of experience teaching art in public schools. She finds joy in inspiring her students to explore the world through art and appreciates the unique perspectives children bring to the creative process. In recognition of her dedication and talent, Caitlin was honored as Blue Valley's Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2020. She currently teaches at Sunflower Elementary in Lawrence, where she continues to nurture young artistic minds. Caitlin is a graduate of the Visual Art Education Program at the University of Kansas. She holds National Board Certification in Visual Art Education, showcasing her commitment to excellence in art instruction. Fluent in Spanish, she embraces diversity and inclusivity in all learning environments.

Explode a rainbow to fill the world with color as we learn to mix paint, create beautiful patterns and express ourselves with kaleidoscope-like artworks. We’ll look to artists that evoke emotion using color for guidance as we make sculptures, paintings and prints full of wild colors! No class July 3.
