The fall season of the 18th year of the Tuesday Concert Series kicks off at the Lawrence Arts Center on September 3 with Woman Songwriter’s Night! Eight acts fronted by woman musicians will be performing songs by their favorite woman songwriters.
This Tuesday Concert Series is special because it is the annual benefit for the Lawrence Arts Center. A special “thanks” for letting Larry Carter host the Tuesday Concert Series here.
Sept 3 – Woman Songwriters Night: Megan Luttrell, Ardys Ramberg, Harris & Frydman (Lisa Harris & Rick Frydman), Mary Conn Trio (Mary Conn, Ven Bergdall & Bryan Hicks), Jeannie & Tal, (Jeannie Zandi & Tal Carter), Bianca & Benton (Bianca Storlazzi & Benton Peugh), With A Twist (Ann & Marvin Hunt), and Holly Taylor.
Sept 17 – Byron James – (Classical guitar) and MegaFauna (Improvisational band with violin, viola, guitar & bass that “celebrates the contributions of large mammals of the Pleistocene era that lived in Kansas.”
Oct 1 – Spencer & Rains – High energy old-time music from Tricia Spencer and Howard Rains
Oct 15 – Bryan Hicks – Jazz standards & t.b.a.
Oct 29 – No Bow Tie – Classical music mayhem on acoustic guitars
Nov 12 – Sally & the Hurts – Contemporary & original folk
Nov 19 – Jeannie & Tal – Contemporary & traditional folk
Dec 10 – Ingevalds Spelmän – Scandinavian dance music
