The Chubby Smith Collection: Guitar & Audio Sale

Join us on October 24 from 5-8pm to celebrate the life, creativity and musical legacy of Chubby Smith – and the incredible collection he left behind. Nearly 100 handmade, one-of-a-kind guitars created by Chubby Smith will be available for purchase, along with name-brand guitars, vintage and high-end audio gear, amps, other instruments and more. Guitars and basses will be priced from $100–$500, making this a unique opportunity to take home a piece of Chubby’s creativity and musical legacy.

Can’t wait until Saturday? The Chubby Smith Collection will be on display at the Lawrence Arts Center beginning Friday, October 23, giving visitors a chance to view Chubby’s remarkable collection of handmade guitars and instruments before the sale begins. The collection will remain on display through Saturday leading up to the event, with purchases beginning when the Guitar & Audio Sale opens at 5 PM Saturday, October 24.

Then join us on Saturday at 5pm to browse the collection, enjoy live music by The Eudoras, grab a drink from the cash bar ,and spend an evening celebrating Chubby and his lasting mark on the Lawrence music community.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Audio-Reader and the Smith-Mulvihill family.

A note for guitar buyers: All guitars and amps are sold as-is. Guitars have been inspected and tested, with any known exceptions noted on the individual description cards. Guests will also have an opportunity to try guitars (without amp) at designated areas during the event. Come celebrate Chubby, hear some great music and leave with a one-of-a-kind instrument of your own.
