Imagining Our Futures | A Community Art Exhibition

Join us for a reception, exhibition viewing, and staged readings created for the Imagining Our Futures Artifact Collection on Friday, September 20th from  5 – 7 pm at the Lawrence Arts Center.

In April 2024, the AfroRithm Futures Group, a consultancy inspired by the Afrofuturist movement, engaged members of the Lawrence and KU communities in “game-ified” storytelling sessions designed to facilitate contemplating more equitable futures. In order to extend the rich discussions that took place, local artists were invited to create tangible “artifacts” that communicated their own visions of the future. Selected works will be on display at the Lawrence Arts Center from September 17th through September 25th, 2024.
