The Lawrence Arts Center’s youth curatorial board, Hang12, invites the public to join a special red ribbon unveiling of their new artwork in the City of Lawrence’s parking garage at 946 New Hampshire St.

The event will begin with refreshments and a chance to meet the artists in the Lawrence Arts Center lobby at 4:45pm. Remarks will begin at 5pm with the following featured speakers:

  • Alicia Kelly, Hang12 Project Facilitator
  • Hang12 Artists
  • City of Lawrence Parking Services Staff
  • Artist Mona Cliff

After the remarks, attendees will walk across the street to cut the red ribbon to unveil the new work by Hang12 and to celebrate the existing mural by Mona Cliff.

This public artwork features a variety of flora, fauna, and critters that will be installed over parking stalls in the first level of the garage. The project was made possible by support from the Kansas Department of Commerce’s TAPS (Transformative Art for Public Spaces) grant through a partnership with the City of Lawrence Parking Services department.
