Nick Schmiedeler | Leftover Lawrence

Nick Schmiedeler has been tinkering with found, salvaged, and natural objects for decades. Inspired by the rustic, craftsman-style, he has created folk art-inspired works that are comprised of bits and pieces of Lawrence. Fragments assembled from local yard sales, alleys, the Kaw, junkyards, and thrift stores tell a story of new life after being discarded.

Jeff Weinberg | Retrospective

Over the last twenty years, Jeff Weinberg has maintained an art studio for his interdisciplinary work. Jeff considers his vast production of paintings to be experiential. Join us in celebrating Jeff’s creative endeavors in painting as he reflects on his lived experiences.

Behind the Studio Door is a collection of personal portraits curated by Louis Copt and Clive Fullagar. The portraits in this exhibition are deeply personal, depicting either the artists themselves or those close to them. They are introspective reflections on the relationship between themselves and their subjects. These paintings allow for a candid and often vulnerable exploration, revealing as much about the artist’s personality, psyche, and experiences as about the person portrayed. They push the boundaries of traditional portraiture and explore new techniques, styles, and mediums.
