Front Desk Administrator | Work Study [admin]
Job description
The Lawrence Arts Center is hiring part-time Kansas Work Study eligible students for part-time Front Desk Administrators.
Shifts will vary between day, evening, and weekend hours. Shifts will be set each semester, including summer, and will be approximately 15-20 hours per week. The Arts Center is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am – 9 pm, and Sundays 9 am – 5 pm. There is flexibility for when shifts are scheduled, but shifts are set and don’t change weekly. Time off and temporary shift changes are available through a required process. Fill in hours will be available as needed.

Position requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Be Kansas Work Study eligible.
- Have strong attention to detail, including the ability to calculate various sums of money, understand percentages, and follow procedures that have several detailed steps.
- Have a basic knowledge of database software, such as Salesforce, or have an interest in account management and business administration.
- Have working knowledge of word processor and spreadsheet programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills (phone, in person, and email) to answer customer questions about accounts, on-site events, and educational programming.
- Be dependable and have the flexibility to work during the Arts Center’s hours of operation, allowing time for open and close procedures.
- Be able to work from a standing workstation with a leaning stool during scheduled shift hours (accommodations can be provided as needed).
- Be comfortable walking through the main facility as needed, and for routine open or close procedures when other persons may, or may not, be in the building.
- Be able to lift or move heavy objects or packages, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Have knowledge of cleaning protocols for equipment and work environments.
