AUDITIONS | PETER & THE WOLF
CALLING ACTORS, MOVERS, & DANCERS AGES 10-14:
Will be performed as part of “Melody in Motion” Benefiting the Lawrence Arts Center on October 6 at 5 pm at the First United Methodist Church on Vermont St.
The Peter and the Wolf story will be narrated, as is traditional, including an introduction to the orchestra – or in this case the Organ Pipes, by Director Ric Averill.
We need youth performers willing to make this production particularly engaging through pantomime. Costumed actors will move, act, react and play the following roles:
- Peter, the youthful learner of their story
- Grandfather, who is wiser and much older
- Cat, who has eyes on the
- Bird, who is always quarrelling with
- Duck, all of whom fear the
- Wolf, who is pursued, and in the end, captured by
- Hunters (2-4)
All roles will be cast with youth actors with the possible exception of Grandfather.
For Casting Session – be prepared to move a lot. Wear comfortable clothes. Be prepared to pantomime activities and to move like the various animals in the story. We are seeking a playful and imaginative pantomime of the story that captivates the spirit of the music. Because of the quick timeline, this is a small cast, and will not be an all-play.
There will be three rehearsals, and a performance on Sunday, October 6.

Tandy Reussner Presents: Pulling Out All the Stops, “Melody in Motion”
Concert Benefiting the Lawrence Arts Center
Tandy Reussner, D.M.A, is a concert organist who presents annual benefit concerts to raise awareness and funds for area organizations that help the people of our community. Tandy’s concerts are somewhat unconventional multi-media events (not like a traditional recital) because she strives to raise awareness of the versatility of the organ. The concerts all have a theme that corresponds with the organization she is highlighting. Proceeds from ticket sales, go directly to the organization. This year, she has chosen to benefit the Lawrence Arts Center.
