Coy Garrett graduated from the University of Kansas this spring with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and a minor in communication studies. She is the 2024 recipient of the Laura Louise Pyor Award, an award for a student graduating with a degree in Theatre or Theatre/ Voice who has made significant contributions to the University Theatre production program. Recent credits include Macey in Milking Christmas: A New Musical, Skye in Giiiiiirls Trip, and Nancy in Fancy Nancy The Musical. She recently performed a senior musical theatre capstone this May, showcasing favorite pieces from her audition book and addressing parts of her journey through music. Her first musical experience took place at The Lawrence Arts Center’s Summer Youth Theatre when she played Eponine in Les Misérables. She thanks the Arts Center for giving her the opportunity to direct and work amongst incredible professionals in the arts as well as the lovely cast of Wizard of Oz.
