DESCRIPTION:Join us for Final Friday as we celebrate the opening of three new exhibitions and a free Adult Improv Troupe performance in the Black Box Theater! <h6><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>ADULT IMPROV TROUPE PERFORMANCE</strong></span></h6> <span class="OYPEnA font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none">The Adult Improv Performance Troupe will be putting on a show at 7:30 pm in the Black Box Theater! Grab a beverage in the lobby and come on down for an evening of zany comedy. Free and open to the public, $10 suggested donation.</span> <a class="btn-secondary" href="https://lawrenceartscenter.org/event/bottles-group-exhibition/"><b>Bottles | Group Exhibition</b></a> <i>Bottles</i> combines a wide range of approaches to the bottle form through contemporary ceramics. The bottle form has been a staple for ceramic artists to create for hundreds of years.  These forms can all at once help decorate a space and be utilitarian. Artists invited to participate in this exhibit utilize various construction techniques and firing methods to create their ceramic vessels.  <em>Bottles</em> will culminate in a rich, and varied grouping of ceramic bottles created by a dynamic roster of artists. Participating Artists: Ingrid Bathe, Samantha Briegel, Israel Davis, Stuart Gair, Chris Hosbach, Meredith Host, Matt Long, Antonio Martinez, Lorna Meaden, Didem Mert, and Brad Schwieger <a class="btn-secondary" href="https://lawrenceartscenter.org/event/fuego-forma-y-cultura-curated-by-blanca-herrada/"><b>Fuego, Forma y Cultura | Curated by Blanca Herrada</b></a> <i>Fuego, Forma y Cultura</i> brings together 7 Latin-identifying artists from around the country working in the realm of ceramics. Each artist uniquely expresses their Latinidad, further showcasing the richness and range of Latin culture and expression. This carefully curated collection celebrates the multifaceted beauty of Latin American traditions, history, and artistic expressions. Viewers are invited to explore themes such as identity, migration, social justice, and spirituality through a selection of ceramic works. By highlighting both well-known artists and emerging talents representing different regions within Latin America, this exhibit will help foster an understanding and appreciation for this diverse heritage while dismantling stereotypes often associated with it.
