The Associate Director of Performing Arts and Education serves as the primary instructor and designer of theatre education curriculum and opportunities at the Lawrence Arts Center. The Associate Director is the primary administrator of theatre classes and leads the theatre faculty. Associate Director of Performing Arts and Education reports to the Director of Performing Arts and the Chief Program Officer to create a dynamic, innovative environment for theatre productions and education.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field, master’s level is preferred. Teaching experience and skilled understanding of how to develop engaging, creative, standards-based curriculum is critical. An understanding of and excitement about STEAM education is a plus. Strong production experience is necessary and as well as proven organizational and communication skills. A strong sense of community, optimistic problem solving, and the ability to multi-task while creating a harmonious team environment are essential. The successful candidate will possess the professionalism, passion and dedication to the arts that characterizes the Lawrence Arts Center.
