SYT The Prom Cast Hub


Hello and welcome to the Prom Cast Hub!

We will also be using the GroupMe app for up-to-the-minute communications.

If you do not have the GroupMe app, you can find it in your app store or click HERE. If you have not been added, please let us know ASAP! 


A few reminders:

    • Rehearsals will run until 10pm every night, Tuesday- Thursday.

    • Dinner breaks will be 30 minutes, which means you need to bring your dinner with you as you will not be permitted to leave the building for break.

    • Monday we will order pizza for our dinner break. If you’d like join us you will need to bring $5 cash. You will turn in your money and mark down which kind you’d like when you sign in at the top of rehearsal.

    • You will take all of your personal items home after the final show on Saturday, however strike and the cast party will be Sunday.

    • Strike and the Cast Party are on Sunday, July 30. Strike is 2-4pm, it is mandatory that everyone be present for this. The cast party is 4-6pm and is not mandatory.


Monday-       4pm: Intros and getting to know the space

                        4:30pm: Get into Mics

                        5pm: Start tech

                        6pm: Dinner Break- $5 pizza if you wish

                        6:30: pick up where we left off and finish Tech

Tuesday     – 4pm: Warm ups, notes

                        5pm: Dinner break- remember to bring you dinner

                        5:30pm Get into costume & mics

                        5:55: Sound Check

                        6pm: Start Run- With the orchestra

 Wednesday– – 4pm: Hair & Makeup- notes

                        5pm: Dinner break- remember to bring you dinner

                        5:30pm Get into costume & mics

                        6:20: Sound Check

                        6:30: Start Run

Thursday– – 4pm: notes

                        5:30pm: Dinner break- remember to bring you dinner

                        6pm Get into costume & mics

                        6:30: Sound Check

                        6:45: House opens

                        7pm: Final Dress will start at 7pm.

Parents are welcome to come to this run and take non-flash photography. Doors will open at 6:45pm.

Friday –           No rehearsal– we won’t see you until 5pm

1st Performance- Call time is 5:30pm, show starts at 7pm

Saturday- two performances!!!

Show 1:  Call time is 12:30pm, show starts at 2pm

Dinner break 4:30-5:30pm *DINNER BREAK IS UNSUPERVISED,

Show 2: Call time is 5:30pm, show starts at 7pm Everyone will take all of their personal items with them at the end of the day.


Sunday-           STRIKE/ Cast Party

STRIKE: We will strike 2-4pm. ALL ARE CALLED

Cast Party: 4-6pm at the City Pool. We will provide popsicles and celebrate this amazing show!


First and foremost, I would like to thank you in advance for volunteering your time and energy to be a part of our amazing summer theatre community. The Lawrence Arts Center welcomes and encourages parent/guardian volunteers as an important component of our process. We believe that parents enhance the experiences for young actors. Your involvement helps us to maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for all of our performers, technicians, patrons, and staff.

Also, each volunteer shift comes w/a free ticket to the show, so let us know.

  • All cast members are expected to be present and on time for all rehearsals.
  • There is a $280 mandatory enrollment fee for all students.
  • There is no additional costume fee but we may ask cast members to provide some base costume elements such as pants,  shoes, and undergarments.

Our costume designer, Landon, will create a Guidelines and Suggestions document for you to look over as we start to think about costumes for our show! Coming next week!


  • Students MUST sign in when they arrive for every rehearsal & performance.

  • Please send an email if our staff needs to be aware of any medical, personal, or family concerns.

  • We have an open-door policy for caregiver feedback.

We are not able to provide complimentary tickets to parents or families, but the Final Dress Rehearsal is free and open to FAMILY audience members.

SYT Jack Powell Memorial Scholarship

In honor of Jack Powell, we are also offering the Jack Powell Memorial Scholarship, awarded to SYT students who demonstrate a commitment to theatre and are in financial need.  Special consideration is made to those students who wish to participate in more than one production during the current Summer Youth Theatre season.  Contact Elizabeth Sullivan, for questions or to apply.
