Amy’s background spans from studies in elementary education to a career in real estate, with a bounty of experience both volunteering and working for nonprofits across Oregon, Colorado, and Kansas, beginning in the 1990s. She took coursework in stone sculpture and installation and presently has a budding interest in photography. Amy was the founding AmeriCorps Vista Fellow here in Lawrence, helping to launch Community Village Lawrence during the organization’s inception phase. She had the privilege of taking on the role of Museum Administrator at the Taos Art Museum at Fechin House for a stint during the two-year hiatus she and her family lived in Taos, New Mexico. Her role encompassed donor and patron relations, facility rentals, event planning, and curatorial assignments. Outside of work, you may find Amy playing in the garden, baking savory and sweet things, taking nature walks with her family and dogs, or otherwise enjoying the simple things in life. She is excited to eventually take her first dance class at the Lawrence Arts Center.
