February 20 | Scholarship Auditions for Lawrence Dance Intensive
Join us and audition for a scholarship to attend the Lawrence Dance Intensive Summer Ballet 2022!
In Person Scholarship Audition: February 20th 1-2:30PM
Join us at the Lawrence Arts Center on February 20th from 1 to 2:30pm to audition for a scholarship to attend LDI 2022! There is no cost to audition for a scholarship. Please register online by February 17th. Only partial merit scholarships to the full intensive will be awarded. Pre-Register here! Check out more details about LDI here!
Can’t make the in-person scholarship audition? No worries, you can submit an audition video through March 21st!

February 28 – Mar. 6 | Class Observation Week
During the week of February 28-March 6, families and caregivers are invited to observe full session classes! More details will be provided via email closer to observation week. We hope that this will provide you an opportunity to see what your dancers have been working on in class!
March 7 | Ceili Celebration at LPL 6-7PM
In Irish, the word “céilí” (KAY-LEE) means party! Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by enjoying a free Irish Step Dance performance and participating in traditional Irish group dances led by Annie Stark at the Lawrence Public Library. Performance will last approximately 30 minutes with group activities to follow.
This event is free and open to the public. No matter your age or dance experience (or lack thereof), come have fun and learn a dance!

March 9-11 | No Classes Due to The Sleeping Beauty Production
March 11-12 | Performance of The Sleeping Beauty, Spring Ballet Production 7PM
Based on the classic French fairytale by Charles Perrault and set to the beautiful musical score by Tchaikovsky, The Sleeping Beauty ballet returns to the Arts Center main stage. Join us as Princess Aurora is cursed by an evil fairy and doomed to sleep for a hundred years. Safeguarded by the Lilac Fairy, the princess is eventually awakened by the prince who loves her, and a grand celebration ensues. Also look out for a special pre show performance by our very own contemporary movement dance classes!

March 12-25 | Final Session A Classes
When winter session classes come to an end, families and caregivers are invited to attend a final class showing! More details will be provided via email closer to final session A classes. We hope that this will provide you an opportunity to see what your dancers have been working on in class!

March 21 | Lawrence Dance Intensive Scholarship Video Submission Deadline

March 26 & 27 | Tristian Griffin Dance Company Presents The Bridge
Choreographers John Malashock and Tristian Griffin interweave their experiences, perspectives, and choreographic styles to form a cohesive but contrasting artistic narrative through original dance and music. Equally sharing the conception and creation of The Bridge, this work has been set on members of both Malashock Dance (San Diego) and Tristian Griffin Dance Company (Kansas City). Music by Philip Daniel.
