FREE FAMILY ART EXPERIENCES | St. Patrick’s Day Céilí Party!

In Irish, the word “céilí” (KAY-LEE) means party! Come and enjoy a free performance in the theatre by the Arts Center’s Irish Step Dance students and guest company, Céilí at the Crossroads. The festive holiday continues in the main lobby with traditional Irish group dances, live music and refreshments.

Lawrence Ballet Theatre’s 10th Anniversary Concert & Reception

Lawrence Ballet Theatre will be presenting favorite works from past Emergence performances to celebrate its 10th year as a pre-professional dance company at the Lawrence Arts Center and honor alumni, guest choreographers, and supporters of the past. New works will also be presented, sending LBT into the next ten years.

This celebratory event will also feature photos and video from the past decade, and we will recognize the dancers and supporters who have made the company a success through the years.

An open reception for the audience will follow the performance in the main lobby.

Lawrence Dance Intensive Summer Ballet Scholarship Auditions

A collaboration between the Lawrence Arts Center and the University of Kansas Department of Theatre and Dance, this program offers dancers opportunities for artistic growth through world-class instruction by accomplished faculty, guest artists, and choreographers. A diverse and well-balanced curriculum, this program strives to develop the artists of tomorrow.

Carmine Ballere Scholarship Audition

March 22 @ 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm | FREE

Established in 1997, the Carmine Ballere Scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated excellence and commitment in dance. Encouraging the study of ballet and a lifelong devotion to dance, the scholarship covers the cost of four ballet and pointe classes per week, as well as all production and participation fees during the Fall 2020/Spring 2021 semesters. Awardees are required to serve as teachers’ assistants for one Preschool/Kinder class per week, and must currently be enrolled in Ballet IV-VII to audition.
