Resources For Kids

We miss all of our young students so much and we hope you are all staying safe, healthy and creative! We’ve put together some resources for you all to utilize online & locally until we can get back to it here at the Arts Center.

Yarn it Forward: Beginner Crochet Kits for pick up at the Sunrise Project Community Pantry at 1501 Learnard Ave. Each kit has yarn, a crochet hook and directions in each bag. First come first serve and they will be refilling kits as they go. Check out Yarn It Forward on Facebook!

Jungle House Goods: Our local jungle has the option to order online, over the phone, pick-up, shipping and no-contact door step delivery. They have some To-Go Workshops and plant-grams that you can send to others as gifts! Taking care of my plants and seeing them around the house has been keeping me in good spirits while sheltering in place.

Doodle of the Day: We are releasing doodle challenges so that Lawrence can come together to doodle and share. Just look for each day’s prompt and then take however long you’d like to make a doodle or sketch. Email us a picture of your work and we will post in the doodles gallery! For more information and instructions click here.

Cloud Gazing Gallery: We want to know – what art are you making during this time? We want to share your art with all of Lawrence and connect people in our new Cloud Gazing Gallery. You can submit your art to be displayed virtually in the Cloud Gazing Gallery!

Adobe Create: Adobe has free coloring pages available online to print! The artwork is created by artists and there is a theme for each chapter. These coloring pages are really fun and will look great taped on the wall or the fridge!

Drawing for Kids with Lisa Congdon: Enjoy this 5 part video series with new installments each week! Another great Adobe resource that will get your kids creating new work!

Ladybird Diner // Ladybird Pantry: Free sack lunches are available Monday through Friday at 11am at Ladybird Diner. Pantry boxes are also now available for anyone who needs one. A local gem, Ladybird Diner is working hard to keep our community’s bellies full!

Sunrise Project // Sunrise Community Pantry and Fridge: They say, “take what you need, leave what you can.” Everyone welcome, it’s always open and there is food, body care supplies, large pots for container gardening, cleaning supplies, etc. Check out the Sunrise Project on Facebook.
