Join our Printmaking Artist in Residence, Michael Benedetti, for a new class called “Print to 3D.” This class will utilize printmaking’s inherent qualities, repetition and the multiple, to create sculptures and 3D forms.
Michael will start by introducing and demonstrating multiple screenprinting techniques. Students will then learn how to transform their flat screen printed images into compelling 3D forms. Students will learn several approaches to planning, folding, and building these forms in various materials, including but not limited to paper, cardboard, and wood. Beginning relief printing techniques may also be introduced during the class. Prior experience in printmaking is not required.
This class will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm on Tuesdays, starting March 27th.
