On-Screen & Off! Kennedy Center Access/VSA


This Kennedy Center Access/VSA program is specially designed for students of all abilities, with specific instruction developed for disabled students. Throughout the week, we will investigate storytelling on-screen and off as we learn about theater performance and filmmaking to create a collaborative short film.

Teaching-Artist: Christie Dobson

Christie Scanlin Dobson,

PhD has been a teaching artist at the Arts Center since 2004.

She has a BA theater and film from The University of Kansas, a masters in drama therapy from Kansas State University, and has just completed her PhD in special education with a focus on arts and inclusion at the University of Kansas. She is excited to partner with the arts center to host this camp this summer for VSA.

Dobson is serving as the Executive Director of Kansas Alliance for Arts and Education, and serves as a consultant for arts and accessibility for Kansas Cultural Arts and Industries Commission.
