March 8 & 9 | Spring Double Dance Feature Presents Ish (modern) and Thumbelina (ballet)

The School of Dance presents two original dance productions based on two fantastic stories. Ish, a modern dance feature, is based on the book by Peter H. Reynolds which tells the story of two children who strive to be perfect artists until experiencing the transformative power of art. Thumbelina, a ballet feature, is based on the book by Hans Christian Andersen which retells the story of a miniature girl navigating the wilderness of friendship and love, and finding herself along the way. March 9 | St. Patrick’s Day Céilí Party presented by our Irish Step Dance students

In Irish, the word “céilí” (KAY-LEE) means party! Come join us in the Arts Center lobby to celebrate this festive holiday with traditional Irish group dances, an Irish art project, and live music. Learn more…

March 11-17 | Spring Break at the School of Dance

The School of Dance will not hold classes during Spring Break from March 11 through March 17. The Lawrence Arts Center building and galleries will remain open. Check out the Arts Center’s calendar for event info. Classes will resume on Monday, March 18.

March 24 | Carmine Ballere and Lawrence Dance Intensive Scholarship Auditions

The School of Dance is offering a joint scholarship for dancers wanting to be considered for a Carmine Ballere and/or a Lawrence Dance Intensive scholarship. Dancers seeking a merit scholarship to attend the 2019 Lawrence Dance Intensive: Summer Ballet should attend this final scholarship audition or submit an audition via video link.
