Lawrence Arts Center Lights Up Red for the #WeMakeEvents Campaign

This September, we are proud to team up with other performing arts organizations in our community- KU Theatre, Theatre Lawrence and the Lied Center- to light our buildings red for the #WeMakeEvents campaign. This movement helps bring awareness to the impact COVID-19 has had on our industry. With greatly reduced revenue from tickets sales, it is predicted that only one out of every three arts organizations will make it out of the pandemic.

How can you help?

  • Buy tickets for current programming! We have a wonderful drive-in concert coming up on September 6 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds and a series of socially distant dance parties later in the month!
  • Become a member or make a donation! Your support helps us provide programming and financial aid throughout the entire year. With your help, we can make sure ART IS FOR EVERYONE.
  • Become an arts advocate! Let your public officials know how much the arts mean to YOU. The arts are critical to the economic prosperity of Lawrence and invigorate our lives in the areas of mental health, wellness and social impact. Spread the word loud and strong through emails, phone calls, letters to the editor and social media to help #SaveTheArts.
