Our Final Friday Reception on July 29, 5-9pm will feature work from the talented visual art professors at the University of Kansas School of the Arts.
The Visual Art Faculty Exhibition provides a unique opportunity to view many accomplished artists’ work in one space. With interests that span a broad range of media and disciplines, these internationally recognized artists are each dedicated to educating the next generation of creators in their fields. In a recent article in the Lawrence Journal-World, faculty member Tanya Hartman talked about the piece she chose for the exhbit, “Night: War Cone and Red Crown:”
“I always want my work to create bridges between people, so that they realize our inner worlds, no matter how different we are culturally from one another, are so similar… I think the reason I make artwork is hoping somehow it’ll make the lion lie down with the lamb.” – Tanya Hartman, Lawrence Journal-World
The KU Faculty exhibit runs July 29 – September 24 in the middle and large galleries.
