The Lawrence Arts Center is excited to debut the Teen Artist Co-Op starting this fall!
The Teen Artist Co-Op allows students 13-18 years old to explore the Arts Center’s studios and equipment while honing a personal style with mentorship from working artists!
Teen Artist Co-Op members meet weekly on Monday afternoons for Open Studios, attend weekend Teen Artist Workshops for FREE, and receive 20% off enrollment for any teen visual art courses each season they are a member.
Co-Op members will benefit from the support of a creative community as they build their portfolio, discover new techniques, learn about opportunities to exhibit their work, or just hang out and doodle with peers.
Teen Artist Co-Op Open Studios
Co-Op Open Studios are held weekly and will begin each meeting with a short discussion or sketchbook prompt to reflect on our creative practices while learning about other artists and ideas for inspiration. After this quick check-in, the studios are yours to explore! Members can create digital designs, get their hands messy in the ceramics studio, crochet themselves a cape, or get help working on an artist statement. Co-Op members receive $50 towards purchasing personal art supplies and materials to further their ideas. We’ll end each meeting by sharing our successes and challenges in the studio or bouncing around our ideas for next week.
Teen Co-Op Open Studios (B): Mondays, October 30-December 11; 4-6:30 pm (six weeks, no meeting the week of Thanksgiving)
Members of Teen Artists Co-Op Open Studios receive free access to weekend Teen Artist Workshop and a special codeword for 20% of enrollment for any teen visual art course offered during the season in which they are enrolled.
