The Lawrence Arts Center is looking for creative, community-loving people to join us as we bring education and entertainment as well as visual and performing arts to Lawrence and the surrounding communities!

As we come out of the pandemic the Arts Center is getting back into the swing of things, which is creating new opportunities to join our staff in the way that suits you best. Studio Manager
The Studio Manager is responsible for keeping the Lawrence Arts Center’s visual art studios in top working order and for ensuring that teachers, staff, and students have the supplies, equipment, and facilities needed for a superior educational experience.

Youth Visual Arts Education Instructor
The Youth Education Instructor is responsible for the curriculum design and instruction of classes for grades 1-12 in the Youth Education Program. Instructors collaborate closely with their counterparts in visual and performing arts instructors to create cohesive, innovative, and student-oriented curriculum.

Jewelry Instructors
The Lawrence Arts Center Adult Visual Arts program is seeking to hire experienced Jewelry instructors to design and implement curriculum in our Jewelry & Metals area.

Early Childhood Educators – Preschool & Kindergarten
Our innovative, creative arts and play-based early childhood program is looking for part-time and substitute teachers for for the 2021-2022 school year. The ideal candidates for these positions would be individuals who enjoy and have experience working in early childhood, multi-tasking, compassion, patience, don’t mind getting messy, and understand the importance of play.

Dance Instructors
The School of Dance is seeking to hire experienced full-, part-time and substitute dance instructors for its Preschool Dance, Kinder Ballet and Intro to Ballet classes this fall semester, including substitute teaching. Our mission is to cultivate artistry, excellence, and healthy living in our community through dance training, performance, and community engagement.

Front Desk
The Arts Center has an opening for a front desk administrative assistant, approximately 10-15 hours per week to start, shifts will include days, evenings, weekends.

Teaching Artists
The School of Theatre and Music is seeking individuals who will design and implement curriculum in any of the following areas: imagination-based theatre, theatre skill-building, music-making (both vocal and instrumental), musical theatre performance, early childhood exploration, and technical theatre. Classes typically run anywhere from one week to twelve weeks for ages ranging between infancy and adulthood.

Scenic, Lighting, and Costume Designers
The School of Theatre and Music is seeking individuals who will design, conceive, and realize original set, lighting, or costume designs. Designers will work with a professional production team to collaborate and envision designs and plans for theatre productions.

Theatre Technicians
The School of Theatre and Music is seeking individuals who will set up, run, and strike concerts, dance shows, theatre shows, lectures and other events as needed. Build sets, costumes, hang lighting instruments, curtains, run projections, sound and lighting boards.

School-Year Interns
The School of Theatre and Music internships allow students to gain professional experience and provide a service in their community. Within the Performing Arts Program, interns are part of the team and have the opportunity to assist with all aspects of theatre programming.
