Hang12 Final Friday: Malka Hampton’s “Free Floating Fears”

Anthrophobia, 2018

Surreal images, staged phobias, and compositions dense with anxiety are what you can expect in Malka Hampton’s solo photography exhibition, Free Floating Fears. The dark, gauze-like worlds of Malka’s compositions reflect romanticizing experience as a process of coping and deflection.

Malka was selected as the recipient of the 2017 Vanguard Award for outstanding work as a student of USD 497 and the artist will present new solo work this month, selected by curatorial group Hang12 as a featured exhibition for Final Friday.

Trypanophobia, 2018

Free Floating Fears opens October 26th at Edward Jones on New Hampshire Street, with a reception from 5PM to 9PM.
