Halloween Shows Bring Fright & Fun for All

While most trick or treating may be on hold this year, the Lawrence Arts Center has a haunted host of spooky and family-friendly events to keep you eerily entertained for Halloween!

Beginning on October 21, join Ric Averill on one of his socially distanced walking tours of haunted downtown Lawrence. Ghosting Lawrence is a theatrical journey that will include spirits dancing, playing and singing as Averill tells the harrowing history of a town that was burned and scarred but rose like a Phoenix. Weather permitting, Averill will present nine shows running Wednesdays through Sundays until November 1. No show scheduled for Halloween night.

Wear your walking shoes for the eight-block tour, which will include stops at the Carnegie Building, Senior Center/Fire Station, Jefferson’s, Goldmakers, The Eldridge Hotel and more! To keep everyone frighteningly safe, Averill will host the tour wearing a clear mask with microphone underneath to keep his spirit contained but allow his voice to freely leave his body. Tours will be limited to 20 participants. Click the link below for tickets, additional information and detailed safety guidelines.

Wear your costume and watch Jackie O’Lantern and Shelly Skelly as they embark on a trick or treat adventure!

Showtimes on Saturday are at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. To keep everyone’s auras apart, audiences will be limited to 25 people in our 300-seat capacity venue.
