DESCRIPTION:Heidi Herrman is profoundly inspired by texture, negative space, and what lies beneath the surface—through excavation, layering, and material transformation. For over twenty years, her primary art form was fashion design and apparel production, a foundation that continues to inform her current practice. Heidi's work explores hand-stitched mark-making and the integration of garment construction techniques across a wide range of mediums. Using encaustic, fabric, found and captured digital imagery, stitching, and industrial remnants, she builds layered surfaces through cloth assemblage, collage, photography, painting, and wax. These compositions investigate memory, materiality, and transformation, with the intention of creating surfaces that are both engaging and poetic. Opening Reception: January 16, 5-7 pm INSIGHT Art Talk: Saturday, January 17, 11 am Final Friday: January 30 and February 27, 6-9 pm
Thank you to Lunar Graphix 🌙 for providing gallery vinyl.
