DESCRIPTION:<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">When a family visits Kansas City’s Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, they never imagine becoming a part of the artwork themselves. But if they each fall into a different painting, how will they find each other again? Join us for the School of Dance’s annual spring multi-genre production as we dance from frame to frame, bringing the art of the Nelson-Atkins to life through ballet, tap, jazz, Irish dance, and more.</p> Dancers ages six (first grade) or older through adults of all ages are invited to audition for <em>In Frame</em>, an original multi-genre dance production directed and choreographed by Liat Roth with choreography from additional School of Dance Faculty. <h5><strong>How to Audition</strong></h5> <ul> <li>Arrive 30 minutes prior to your audition time.</li> <li>Dress wearing <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UjEcqmjFCpfl4VvgIGhYx_aZLCPukgXW9m4gy-UZIaA/edit?usp=sharing">appropriate dance attire.</a></li> <li>Applicants should bring all dance shoes they currently own.</li> <li>No prepared material is required to audition.</li> <li>Youth are required to be actively enrolled in a dance class at any dance studio/school.</li> <li>No additional requirements for adults.</li> <li>Registration is required by January 8.</li> </ul> <h5><strong>Audition Schedule</strong></h5> <h6><strong>Saturday, Jan. 10 | General Call</strong></h6> <ul> <li><strong>10:00 am | 12-18 years old (Grades 6-12)</strong> – Equivalent levels Ballet Vb-VII (<strong>will</strong> include a segment of pointe work); Tap III-IV, Jazz III, Hip Hop III, Modern II, Irish III-IV</li> <li><strong>12:00 pm | 11-18 years old (Grades 5-12)</strong> – Equivalent to Ballet IV-Va (will not include a segment of pointe work), Teens Ballet, Contemporary Movement III-IV, Modern I, Chinese Dance, Irish</li> <li><strong>2:30 pm | 6-9 years old (Grades 1-2)</strong> – Equivalent to Intro to Ballet & Ballet I, Jazz I, Hip Hop I, Tap I</li> <li><strong>3:30 pm | 9-12 years old (Grades 3-4)</strong> – Equivalent to Ballet II-III, Jazz II, Tap II, Hip Hop II, Contemporary Movement I-II</li> <li><strong>4:30 pm | Adults</strong> (ages 18 and up, intermediate/advanced with at least 2 years of experience)</li> </ul> <h6><strong>Sunday, Jan. 11 | Select Dancers Only</strong></h6> <ul> <li><strong>1-2:30pm</strong> | Call Backs</li> </ul> <h5><strong>Rehearsals</strong></h5> <em><strong>Attending all rehearsals is required.</strong></em> Regular rehearsals will be scheduled on either Fridays (4:30-7 pm), Saturdays (1:45-6 pm), and Sundays (1-5 pm) starting Jan. 16 through March 9.
