Who is an artist? An artist is a creative worker, idea purveyor, dancer, visual artist, performer, writer, music creator, culture bearer, painter, maker, artisan, illustrator, culinary artist, actor, playwright, storyteller, social convener, imaginary, poet, cultural worker, visionary, change maker, textile artist, photographer, teaching artist, filmmaker, sculptor, designer, crafter, organizer, rock star, and more. If you see yourself on this list, Artist INC is for you. Artist INC Lawrence sessions run for eight consecutive weeks on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, January 6 – March 3, 2026. To be eligible to apply for Artist INC LIVE Lawrence, you must:
- Be an individual with a creative practice of any discipline, at any stage of your career.
- Reside within a 60-minute commute of Lawrence, KS.
- Commit to attending the eight Artist INC LIVE session dates in person (barring illness or emergency).
- Be 18 years of age or older at the time of the application.
- Not be a student enrolled in an undergraduate program.
Program Fees: If you are selected to participate in Artist INC, there is a $150 fee. The participant fee should not deter you from applying! If you are accepted to the program and the cost is financially infeasible for you, there are scholarships and waivers for the participation fee. Your ability to pay the $150 will not affect your application prospects. Important Dates: Please fill out this online application form to apply.
