Since 1975, he’s released over a dozen studio albums, and his wide-ranging artwork resides in collections worldwide, including the Met, MoMA, and LACMA. This exhibition will feature works that span his career. Finding La Yarda | Interactive Installation Finding La Yarda is an immersive multimedia art experience recreating a room from La Yarda, the housing unit built for Mexican American railroad workers in Lawrence, Kansas from 1920-51. Using film, sound, art, and digital storytelling practices, Finding La Yarda brings oral history to life by taking audiences on a cultural journey through time and place. Contributing Artists include Justin Favela, Ann Dean, Jonathan Christensen Caballero, Brenna Buchanan Young, Jeremy Rockwell, Peter Jasso, and Marlo Angell. INSIGHT Art Talk | September 16, 7 pm Join us for an evening with the Finding La Yarda team of artists as they discuss the process and history of the Finding La Yarda installation! A to Z | Group Exhibition We use letters to make words. We use words to tell stories. Artists use lines and shapes to convey ideas. These ideas tell stories. Rediscover the alphabet from A to Z. In this unique show, 26 artists each turn a single letter into a striking piece of art. Using lines, shapes, and historical references, they create compelling stories inspired by their chosen letter. Don’t miss this creative journey where every letter presents a fresh perspective in various mediums.
