Lawrence Dance Intensive Regional Master Classes in February

The School of Dance will be traveling to regional dance studios this February to provide further ballet education to regional dancers aged 12-21, while promoting the Lawrence Dance Intensive: Summer Ballet which will be held on the campus of the University of Kansas June 8-19, 2020. Master Classes will be taught by University of Kansas Department of Theatre & Dance faculty members Ashley Brittingham and Jerel Hilding.

Lawrence Ballet Theatre to Perform at Ovation!

Feb. 9 | Ovation! USD497 Talent Show| Lied Center, Main Hall, 7:00 pm

Our very own Lawrence Ballet Theatre company has been selected to perform at this wonderful event. Tickets are available online here!

Proceeds will benefit the Lawrence Schools Foundation. The foundation provides students and teachers with enrichment experiences, scholarships, teacher recognition and classroom support, innovative teaching grants, and partnerships with community organizations and businesses through their LEAP programs.

End of Year Student Showcase 2020

Feb. 9 | Last Day to Enroll

Hurry! The last day to enroll in dance classes and confirm your participation in the End of Year Showcase performance is Sunday, February 9.

This annual event celebrates the achievement of School of Dance students through senior solos and class-based performances. Students enrolled in youth classes are required to confirm their participation at the time of class enrollment. Youth student participation is free and includes 1 complimentary ticket.

Adult class participation will be decided in-class.

Additional tickets can be purchased starting April 1.

Students may change their participation prior to March 1, with no fee. Participation status changes after March 1 result in a $25 fee.

Feb. 10-16 | Class Observation Week

Hosted each semester, our Class Observation Week is an opportunity for students and instructors to share the classroom experience with interested parents. Class Observation Week is open to parents, family members, and friends; however, seating is limited. We encourage observers to arrive a few minutes early to class to get settled.
