Featured Classes: Introduction to Digital Photo and Darkroom Photography

Lawrence Arts Center Teaching Artist Ann Dean was honored with the Best of Lawrence: Artist Working in Photography or Digital Images title in 2018. Recently, Ann has been announced as a returning finalist in the 2019 Best of Lawrence Awards!  At the Lawrence Arts Center, we feel lucky to host Ann as a committed studio presence in both Youth Visual Arts and Adult Visual Arts Education. Better yet, take a class with Ann this summer! If you’ve been meaning to pick up your digital camera, or explore the alchemy of darkroom photography, sessions begin in June and are enrolling now!

Darkroom Photo

This class provides students with the basic skills to develop, print, and manipulate 35mm black & white images in the darkroom. Work with the instructor as you learn to finesse your printing technique. Chemistry, 1 roll of film, and a limited amount of paper is provided. Ages 14 to adult.

Meets Tuesdays, June 4th through July 23rd

Intro to Digital Photography

Develop your photographic technique and learn more about your camera in this beginning class for DSLR users. You will explore basic camera function, the lens, light, composition, and exposure as you learn to take better pictures. Ages 14 to adult.
