Kareen King wears a lot of hats – Registered Drama Therapist, Creative Engagement Specialist, Keynote Speaker, Published Author, Singer-songwriter, Recording Artist, Public Speaking Adjunct Instructor, Piano Accompanist, Puppeteer, and Free-lance Photographer. What makes her heart the happiest is kindness, beauty, and meaningful conversation. She and husband Jeff have five adult children, one granddaughter, and a three-legged Cojack named Hank.  


Calling all storytellers, poets, bards, yarn-spinners, AND story slammers! You don’t want to miss this 3 part workshop series to elevate your story structure and enhance your storytelling skills. Be a participating storyteller or sit back and absorb knowledge as a virtual audience.

We are kicking it off with Matthew Dicks, a 42-time MOTH StorySLAM champion and 6-time MOTH GrandSLAM winner, who will share his “Homework for Life” workshop.

Join us for two Mini-SLAM workshops adjudicated by Lawrence storytellers, Bob Tryanski and Kareen King. They will listen intently to the wonderful line-up of storytellers 6-7 minutes stories and give feedback.
