Visit with our new artists-in-residence to see their studios, view works in progress, and discuss art, life and their professional experiences. Members of the Adult Education team will also offer free demos in the print and clay studios and be available to talk about fall classes.

Taro Takizawa | Printmaking Artist-in-Residence

Taro Takizawa is an artist who focuses on printmaking, wall vinyl installations, drawings and 2D designs. Born in Japan, he makes images connecting his experiences in Japan and the U.S. His works contain western and eastern aesthetics with an appreciation of traditional printmaking processes and mark-making. Twiggy Boden | Ceramics Artist-in-Residence

Twiggy Boden is a queer interdisciplinary ceramics artist. Raised in the heart of the Midwest and its conservative systems, Twiggy understands feeling lost and unseen. Their art questions gender constructs and performance through sculpture and wearable art, allowing young queer people to defy the constructs that raised them. The event will be held in the Lawrence Arts Center’s ceramics studio and printmaking studio.
