Jen’s delicate and strong lines, soft layered surfaces, and varied strokes pull you into her paintings. When she paints, Jen focuses on the blending of color, movement, and shape. Her work is oftentimes inspired by natural landscapes and floral forms, but remains rooted in the abstract. Maintaining control within a piece without suffocating it is an awkward dance, but her goal is to create a piece that ultimately finds its own balance and sense of self.

Jen was born in Los Angeles California. When she was four, her family uprooted and moved to a farm in Kansas, then a town in Idaho, ultimately landing back in Kansas. In 1983, Jen moved to Lawrence to attend KU and never felt the need to leave. She has been an advocate for Lawrence artists throughout her career, as president of the Lawrence Art Guild, LAG Gallery Director, and the coordinator of Art in the Park. She is an award-winning artist and has maintained her career showing in galleries and outdoor art fairs along with having her work in national and international collections. Most recently she was honored with an acquisition from the new KU School of Business.
