Signal To Noise presents: “Out There–A Halloween Space Party.” A live concert of original outer space rock and roll along with a special film never before shown in Lawrence, featuring Firesign Theater–”Martian Space Party.”
Alan Murphy is no stranger to Lawrence music fans. During the 1980s and 90s he led one of the most popular bands in town, Ricky Dean Sinatra. Since then he has played with the Douglas County Quintet and his current band, The Jubilee Mystics. He has written songs with national artist Chuck Mead and has played numerous shows with his band.
The music is reminiscent of such artists as The B52s, T Rex, and early David Bowie. The band consists of equal parts KC and Lawrence musicians. This event will also be a cd release party for two Alan Murphy & The Space Invaders albums, both entitled “Out There.” There will also be souvenirs on sale before and after the show, including albums by members of the band and artworks by the poster artist Scott Manley.”

The concert is sponsored by the Lawrence Arts Center and P1 Group. The audience is encouraged to wear costumes. Seating will be socially distanced with limited capacity. The event will also be live-streamed.
