5-7pm Adult Education Open Studios: We’re throwing our studio doors open and inviting you to come visit! Sample all the studios and meet our fall class instructors who will be demonstrating their skills. Drinks and snacks will be available as you tour the building.

7pm Meet and Greet: Meet our 2017-18 Artists in Residents and our new staff members

Gather in the Large Gallery to meet and learn about our new staff members and 2017-18 Artists in Residence! They’ll each give short presentations about their work, followed by a cocktail hour where you can ask the artists questions one-on-one.

Presenting Artists:           

Shiyuan Xu – 2017/18 Ceramics Artist in Residence

Shiyuan Xu is originally from Hangzhou, P.R. China and has an MFA in ceramics from Arizona State University. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Shiyuan is a 2017 Ceramics Monthly Emerging Artist and has been awarded multiple prestigious artist residencies.


Michael Benedetti – 2017/18 Printmaking Artist in Residence

Michael Benedetti is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and he has an MFA in printmaking from the University of Georgia. Michael has been awarded multiple residencies, including a residency in Ghent Belgium where he studied low-toxic and sustainable options for printmakers. He also has exhibited his work throughout the world.


Adam Meistrell- Studio Manager

Adam Meistrell was born and raised in Naples, FL. Adam comes to the Lawrence Arts Center by way of Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he earned his MFA from Louisiana State University. Adam brings skills in ceramics, printmaking, wood and metalworking, and 3D modeling technologies, as well as a breadth of experience as an educator and administrator to our education program.


Amanda Pintore- Associate Director of Performing Arts & Education

Originally from Omaha, NE, Amanda Pintore has an MFA in Theatre for Youth from Arizona State University. She has joined our Education and Performing Arts Teams to advance the School of Theatre and Music, create new performing arts opportunities for the very young, and serve as a primary director and assistant director on a variety of Arts Center productions.
