STATEMENT
Polyphony, meaning many voices, is a musical term for a song that involves combining two or more individual melodies simultaneously harmonizing with each other. My work explores my personal interests of musical instruments and the connection of music and art. At the base level music is an organization of sounds that connect back into nature. I am inspired by the works of Rembrandt and Caravaggio which and I explore through dramatic portraiture. There are terms for the sounds produced by the environment including Anthrophony (sounds produced by humans), biophony are sounds produced by the animals and Geophony being sounds produced by the earth. These different voices are what influence art.
