Dear Lawrence,

What do you do to take care of yourself these days? It could be anything from a phone call with a friend, a “T-shirt of the day” tradition, a favorite meal, a workout, or writing in your journal. We want to remind you to take time and just breathe, stop and look at the world, embrace this moment, and your place in it. This pandemic has put us all in the same situation and we cope with it in our own way.

Dear Lawrence, can be more than just writing. If you have any art that you have created this can be a space to share it. We want to create a kaleidoscope of Lawrencian expression. Use the written word, paint a picture, make some music, do a dance, take a photo, get your hands in some clay–just breathe, get inspired, create, and share.

Here’s how to share your work:

  • Send your art, music, dance, words, quotes, thoughts, or impressions to: stories@lawrenceartscenter.org. We welcome all types of creative expression.
  • Include your name or let us know if you want to remain anonymous.
  • By submitting, you are giving us permission to share your contributions on our website, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts.
  • If you post to social media use #LawrenceStoriesCOVID19 and #LACStayCreative to connect with others.

This prompt will carry through the entire month of July. Please submit stories by Thursday, July 30th!
